Dr Geoff Holt - a
Queensland University medical graduate who completed his advanced
medical training in Brisbane and then spent four years in North
America, training for his cardiology specialisation at the famed
Mayo Clinic.
Associate Professor Peter Davies - Director of the Children’s Nutrition Research
Centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital and will head Totally
Active research projects.
Ms Karen Inge – one of
Australia's leading nutrition experts. An accredited practicing
dietician, she is a feature writer for the Australian Women’s
Weekly and is the author of “Let’s Eat Right”.
Ms Gayelene Clews – a
former world number one triathlete, who was awarded the Australian
Psychological Society prize as the most outstanding Psychology Post
Graduate in her final year at the University of Canberra.
Professionally, she has worked with many of the world's top
athletes including the 2000 Olympic gold medallist in Women's Water
Polo and the 1999 Rugby World Cup Champions, the Australian
Wallabies.
Professor Alan Lopez– is
Professor of Medical Statistics and population Health and Head of
the School of Population Health at the University of Queensland.
Prior to joining the University in January 2003, he worked at the
World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland, for 22 years
where he held a series of positions including Chief epidemiologist
in the WHO’s Tobacco Control Program and culminating as the Senior
Science Advisor to the Director General in 2002.
Professor Lopez has published
widely on mortality analysis and causes of death including the
global epidemiology of major diseases, injuries and risk factors.
He is the co-author of the seminal Global Burden of Disease Study
(1996), which has greatly influenced debates about priority setting
and resource allocation in health. Professor Lopez has been awarded
a number of research grants in public health and has been closely
involved at state and national government levels in advising on
societal implications of the global obesity issue.
Dr Vince Murdoch PhD (Psychology) – is a behavioural change specialist who has over
25 years experience in working with national and international
private and public organisations on business strategy, corporate
and individual behaviour change, leadership and stakeholder
engagement.
His enthusiasm for community
issues, expertise in business and well researched behavioral change
principles have been of great assistance in formulating the
integrated approach. |
